Today in English class we read in our books. I’m still reading “Diary of a wimpy kid - Dog days”. Mr. MacLachlan was not with us today because he was of work and we had Miss Andersson instead.
Greg and Rowley’s lawn service is not going well because when Mrs. Canfield hired them. When the work was done she refused to pay. Greg went home and asked his dad if he could try to get her to give them the money. They go to her house and Greg’s dad asks her. She explains that the grass is not cut. Greg tries to explain that it was because the lawn service has a strict policy when it comes to dog poop. Greg asked his dad to pick up the poop so they could get their money.
Greg and his friend decided to start a new service for winter called “Snow Removal”.
I think that the Snow Removal service will not be a success but I hope that they will get the money they need to pay Rowley’s dad.
On the way through the woods they came upon three trolls that caught all the dwarves in sacks and were arguing with each other if they were going to roast them, boil them, mince them or sit on them and squash them into jelly. Gandalf saved them by distracting them and getting them to argue with each other till dawn. As soon as it was light the trolls turned to stone so Gandalf and Bilbo helped the dwarves out of the sacks. Once they were free they set off to look for the troll’s cave and found food and ale, gold coins and swords. They buried the coins and carried the rest with them and continued their journey to the East.
Today in English class we read in our books. I continued reading what I read on Thursday, and I read very little again.
Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland.
Chapter 11: Who Stole the Tarts?
The king called the first witness, who was the hatter, who was still drinking tea and eating bread and butter. The king asked him a few questions, but he regretted to answer. The king said that if he doesn’t answer, he will be beheaded, so the hatter simply ran away. There were a few other witnesses, and then the king finally said that Alice is the next witness.
Reading log Today, in English we read our books. I forgot my book at home so I read a myth, Hercules and the 12 tasks. My favourite tasks were the first, the second and the last. The first task is where he had to battle a fierce lion which eats humans. After he won he wore the lion’s skin in each of his tasks. The second task was where he had to fight a huge snake which had 50 heads and everytime he killed a head the snake would grow 2 more. He finally won because he found a stick on the floor and some matches too. He lit the stick and then everytime he killed a head he used the stick to kill the head forever. The last task was about Hercules holding the sky up from a giant. The giant went to get him a golden apple from Brazil.
I enjoyed the story and I hope the entire class can enjoy it too.
Today Mr.Macloclan wasn’t teaching us English, so we were told to read for 30 minutes and write for 10 minutes. The only problem was that I forgot my book at home when I put the book I finished on the shelf. I asked Charlotte for another book, she gave me a book called Never trust a dead Man. The book was about a farmer which is finding a new a new wife. That is all I read in that lesson because the letters in the book were so small and the pages were quite big. Before I read this book I read a book called Banner in the Sky. I didn’t like that book that’s why I asked Charlotte for another book. Oceane
Sophie reads more of the labels on the jars as she wants to know what the dreams are about. There is one that says he has written a book and everyone is reading it and can not stop reading it. Footballers read it as they are playing football and brain surgeons are reading when they are operating on people's brains. Then it says 'when I wake up my mum says that my spelling is 'atroshus' and so is 'puntulashon' in my english exercise book.
Then she asks him how he learnt to write and the BFG tells her that he borrowed a book from a boy. He took the book 8 years ago and he is going to give it back.
I have finished the chapter now and the other giants are going to England to eat girls and boys from a school. Sophie wants to do something to stop them but the giant says they can't.
On the third of December we had double English period and during the half of the second lesson I continued reading “Hole In The Sky” by Pete Hautman”.
As I had already mentioned Ceej and his friend Tim were rolling huge rocks down the canyon. They were almost to the village when they ran into Uncle and Harryettte. The Uncle looked very worried because he heard a strange noise from the canyon, and he liked to worry about the canyon. As he was the Grand Canyon National Park Ranger. The canyon was his responsibility. After that two friend went back to show where they had sent the rock on its journey. Uncle was very angry and disappointed with the boy’s trick. He even wanted to hit Ceej! For nine years Uncle had been teaching them about the Grand Canyon. They even knew the names of the rocks, plants and animals. They knew all the nature in Grand Canyon.
They were sitting in the lobby of EL Tovar, surrounded by the stuffed heads of dead animals. Uncle was talking nearly an hour. He told them that it was very dangerous to send rocks down the canyon because they could have destroyed the Grand Canyon.
Nancy Drew continues to get suspects. With not much luck, Nancy returns home and finds out that Laura Pedleton, Mr. Aborn, and Mrs. Aborn are all missing! A few days later, Laura came to Nancy's house saying that she ran away. She also said that the Aborns were very nasty to her.
