Look carefully at the painting above. Its title is "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus" and it was painted by Peter Bruegel in about 1555. (So the painting is hundreds of years old while the myth is thousands of years old!) ReplyDeleteIn this painting I see a sailing boat. A woman walking down the steps with her cow. I also see some rocks stikking out of the water. That sometimes means that the water is low. I sea the sun and on the water near the sun I see ether a splash or it is just a reflection of the sun on the water. I also see some trees. I think I also see a small piece of a island near the boat.

ReplyDeleteA man is ploughing a field. In a lower field there is a shepherd and his dog next to sheep.
A man seems to be sitting by the water watching someone swimming. There are lots of boats and gallions. The main gallion in the picture seems to be on the move.
In the scenery there are mountains, cliffs and a volcano. A city is in the distance and small islands are in the bay.
The weather is sunny and it is also windy. There is a sea and a boat is swimming on the sea. Next to the sea there is a person drowning and splashing in the water. The sea is in between two huge pieces of land, probably they are two different countries. There is also another boat and some rocks sticking out of the water. I can see a man ploughing the field,and next to him there is a shepherd watching the sheep together with it's dog.

In this picture I can see the sun shining brightly. A boy ploughing with a horse and a cart. I can also see rocks that are like balls and the colour of the horse is brown. There is the sea which is the colour blue because the sky is blue at that time. A old boat which looks a bit rusty and the sun reflecting on the water. A man is near the sea and looking at the sea. Next to the sea there are tall walls. Lots of trees and there is a light next to the trees which could be a reflection. Right at the back of the painting I think that there are some mountains. In my opinion it looks like it’s the morning because the sun is rising and the boy is working. The child doesn’t look happy because his head is down or because he is working hard. Maybe close by there is small island. Another Boat is sailing away because it is facing the other direction.

The weather is sunny and windy because the sails on the boat are puffed out. There is a boy ploughing with a horse. I can also see a person drowning and splashing near the bigger island. There are two islands, one with very steep cliffs and the other has a sandy beach. There is a sheperd looking after his sheep on the lower field. I see a very old castle in the middle of the sea between the two islands. There is a white swan swimming peacifully near the shore of the big island.

ReplyDeleteClaude Debussy was born in St-Germaine in France. The year he was born in was August 22, 1862. He died Paris, March 25, 1918. He was a French composer.
Claude Debussy did not have an easy childhood. His father was a travelling salesman and his mother worked as a seamstress. He learned the piano when he was young and went to the Paris Conservatoire. For a time it seemed he would become a concert pianist, but he did not do well enough in his exam. After winning an important prize, the Prix de Rome, he went to Rome for two years but did not enjoy it. Lots of composers admire his talent and learnt from his music.
It looks like it is a sunny and windy day. There is a pirate boat heading out to sea. The sea is as blue as the sky and the sun is as bright as a light. There is a castle in the middle of the sea. There is lots of green grass and a huge city at the very back. There is another boat on the sea and there is a man pushing a donkey.

ReplyDeleteIn this picture I can see a busy windy day. The sun is shining. Ships are sailing. People are swimming. I can also see a man fishing. Near the sea I can see a shepherd with a big bag. He also has a good loyal dog and plenty of sheep. On the other bank I can see a town. And may be the ships are sailing there with a lot of food. The sea is full of rocks, so it’s very dangerous to sail. But may be the sailors on the ships are skilled and brave.
In this picture I can also see a big mountain very far away from the ships. The ships which are far away are disappearing and become smaller.

I see a man or boy pushing a cart with a donkey tied to it and lots if sheep down the hill. There seems to be lots of greenery and trees. There is a sunset in the sky and a sailboat drifting around the sea. There are icebergs in the water.

The painting has the beautiful sea and a big boat. There is a woman with farming things and another man on a feild. The sun is about to go down and there is a man in the water with his legs sticking up which is probably Icarus. There is a little rock in the sea which is really rocky. by Charlotte
