October 10th My Memorable Day By James Robertson Today I will tell you about my 10th birthday which is on the 25th of April. I will tell you about it because I had a surprise when we arrived at the airport. The story is set in sunny Malta and Freezing cold England. I went to the airport with my mum, dad and my brother Max who was 5 months old. It all started on a dark night in Malta when my mum decided we should go to McDonalds for dinner. I thought that was odd. On the way Max was getting tired but then my mum cried “Good job we are going on a.......”but luckily my dad turned on the music on full blast so I did not hear the last word. Finally we got there and my dad asked if I would help with the cases. I was very confused . We weren’t going to McDonalds instead we were going to England! We landed in England and we drove up to my friend’s house Ethan and Elliot’s. Next day In the morning I opened my presents. My first card was from my brother Max. On the front it said BOLTONS NUMBER ONE FAN. Inside, it had a note saying you will be a mascot for the Bolton v Villa match. “Thanks Max “I screamed I was so excited. We all travelled to Bolton and reached the ground, I got changed into my kit and I also met all the players. I ran onto the pitch with the other mascots and had photos with some players. In the end the score was 1-1, I enjoyed it very much and what a huge surprise .I will remember that day forever because it was my birthday and I turned into double figures. I learned that if you are good you can get anything.
My birthday is on May 1st. In almost every country in the world it’s a public holiday. It’s great because I’m always off school on my birthday. I am going to talk about my 11th birthday that took place here in Malta this year. It is my best birthday so far…
I woke up to early, 4.30 to be exact. I read some books to make the time go by fast. It didn’t. Finally my parents and sister came singing into my room with a lot of presents and cake for only me!
I got a lot of great presents from my family, like lego, DS games, Wii games and more. All of a sudden one of my unwrapped gifts started to ring. I couldn’t believe my ears. I have always wanted a mobile phone but my parents have said no every time I’ve asked them for one. Instead I got one from my grandparents. The mobile was a black Sony Ericsson and the best gift ever. I love my grandparents!
I couldn’t eat any breakfast with my family because I got a chocolate cake in bed and I ate it all.
All morning my sister and I played my new guitar hero-game that I got the same morning. I also baked a cake with my mum for the upcoming party with millions of strawberries on it.
At two o’ clock my guests for the party finally arrived. We played football on the street until my parents told us off. I got some cool gifts from my friends too. For lunch we ate Malta’s largest pizzas. No one had ever seen that big pizzas before.
After lunch we went to a nearby park where we played football, hide and seek, murder ball and tag. When we came back home we threw water balloons at my parents guests visiting from Sweden. That was a lot of fun.
When the parents came to pick up their children we invited them for a glass of wine or two.
Like I said before, this is my best birthday ever because it was a long and fun day with a lot of presents, food and friends. I don’t think this day changed me but it was a nice day.
MY MEMORABLE DAY My memorable day is the birth of my brother (Dima). His day birth is on the fifteenth of February. I have chosen it because it was unforgettable for me as I have only one brother and I was dreaming about a brother for many years. This happened in Russia, in winter. As you know winters in Russia are very snowy and cold. So it was a cold snowy day. When the school day was over my father took me and we went home, where all our relatives had already been there. Then I saw my brother, he was like a small doll, he had a helpless view and he had red skin. While we were celebrating my brother’s birthday I met a lot of people. It was really fun to look after my brother. He actually didn’t move but when he tried to move he did it really funny. After some months we also celebrated his first month, the second month, the third month and etc. Now it’s really interesting to watch, the way he is getting older, the way he did his first step, the way he pronounced his first word. Now my brother is four and the half. He has black curly hair, clever sparkling eyes and small nose. He looks very strong and healthy because his attitude to sports is great. When I have spare time I usually play with him. We usually play football, ball, we swim in the swimming pool and ride a bikes. In spite of the fact that I am elder than him we have much in common. I think that I’ll never forget this day and I’ll tell about it to my brother. The birth of my brother completely changed my life. And I think that the birth of brother or sister might be the most memorable day for everyone.
My Most Memorable Day. I have chosen to write about my most memorable day this year. It was on my 11th birthday, when I invited some friends to my house after school. I looked forward a lot for that big day and I could barely sleep, because I was so excited. I think that my classmates will enjoy reading my description of that wonderful and important day. It was 22nd January 2009, when I turned 11 years old. That day took place at school, and at that time I was a 5th grader. My birthday also took place at home, and on my street. The weather at first was sunny, but then unfortunately it started to rain. I invited to my house three boys: Albert, Alex, and Dima. Albert is one of my best friends and, he is Swedish. He is in my class, and he is 11 years old, but on that day he was only 10. Alex is also one of my best friends and he is Maltese. He is also in my class and he is 10 years old. Dima is my friend, and he is Ukrainian and he comes from the same city, Mariupol as I do. He is 10 years old, and he was born on the 17th December 1998, on the same day as Alex. It was 8:00am when I woke up. My parents and brother came running into my room, singing. They gave me a lot of presents such as a remote control car, which could go very fast on rocks, grass, mud, snow, and even float for a few minutes in water. That was a very good and expensive present, which I really like. I felt very happy and excited. For breakfast I had a chocolate cake, and I went to school. As I came to school, Albert and Alex were singing all the time. At first I enjoyed listening to them, but them it became annoying, because half of Elementary knew already that it was my birthday, because they were singing so loud. When the lesson started, everybody said happy birthday to me, and I felt a bit shy. At the lunch break, Alex pushed me into a puddle on purpose, so I pushed him to, and then for the last three lessons, we had to sit all wet and dirty. At 3:15 we got home… At home we played hide and seek, tag, and went on the roof to shoot for a bit out of my BB rifle. Then it got boring, so we went outside on the street and played football, and drove my remote-control new car. But then unfortunately it started to rain, so we went in, ate pizza and chocolate cake. When it got dark, we started playing hide and seek around the whole house again. Dima and I wanted some violence, so we began throwing tennis balls at Albert and Alex. Albert and Alex started throwing the tennis balls too, so we tried it in the dark. It was very fun. Now came the best part… We wanted even more violence, so we had a pillow fight in the dark with the lights off. That game was very violent and exciting. We hit each other as hard as we possibly could. We couldn’t really see who we were hitting, but it was still fun to whack someone very hard. Then we just started wrestling on the floor. I bashed my lip on the floor and started bleeding, but I didn’t care! It was fun! Soon everyone every one was bleeding, and tired. We just watched T.V. until their parents came. After everyone left, I finished the half-eaten cake. Then I felt sick, because I ate too much cake. I couldn’t sleep, because of my aching stomach, so I watched T.V. till midnight and then went to sleep. That was my happiest and most memorable day so far… I really enjoyed that day, and felt excited for 24 hours. I enjoyed writing this and I hope you enjoyed reading about my most memorable day.
My memorable day was August 2008 when I went to the David Beckham Academy in London. It was a birthday treat from my parents. I remember that it was a really nice sunny day when we went to the venue at eight o’clock in the morning. The venue was next to the O2 Arena in Greenwich which is a famous place. Anyone who is interested in playing football might be interested to know about this place. I was so excited and what made it more exciting was that my best friend called Daniel came with me as well. I hadn’t played football with him for a long time because we played for different football teams. The visit was for five days but the best day for me was the first day.
When we arrived at the academy Daniel and I were really excited because we had never been there before. Once we were inside the people at the desk gave us the academy kit and showed us where to get the changing rooms were. We went inside and there were so many children inside that it was really hard to get changed because there was not enough space. The children were aged between eight years to fifteen years and had come from different countries.
After we got changed it was time to go to the pitch where the coaches put us into country teams. Sadly my friend and I were not on the same team, I was in Brazil and he was in Argentina. Then we started the training session. I was really nervous at the start because the training was hard and very tiring. After we did a few exercises we had a break. That’s when we had some water because we were very thirsty. Lots of the activities weren’t completely new to me because I had done some of them before. Some of the activities weren’t just about playing football as some were about strategy and thinking games. You had to get as many players from the list. The aim of the game was to get players with the best value. After another couple of events it was lunch. At lunch, there was no chocolate for dessert just fruit or a cereal bar. Most of the lunch was pasta because pasta is good for you while playing football as it is a carbohydrate. After 30 minutes of resting, we went back to the pitch to continue with the activities.
The last part of the day, was the most exciting part because it was when we played a few matches. We even played on a full size pitch! My team won some games but lost others but it didn’t matter. I scored a few goals as I played striker which, in my opinion, is the most enjoyable position.
At the end of day one I was exhausted but I was happy as we had another four days of fun and even more activities.
I will never forget this day because I was at an academy that was owned by David Beckham and I remember that it was massive!
It was the 23rd of May-the day before my birthday. Amber slept over. It’s kind of a tradition that Amber comes to my party early or sleeps over. We have lots of fun!
Amber came with my present and I was FOREVER nagging her to tell me what it was!! I was really excited. When it was time to “sleep”, Amber and I pigged out on some ABC’s, candy shaped like letters, smarties, and some gummy hamburgers. We also drank coke and water. We ate while we watched a movie called “Accepted” and we were laughing our heads off!!!
We woke up at about 3:30 am. I was too excited and Amber wasn’t very tired, but we were very thirsty. So we snuck downstairs to get some water. But I tripped on a chair and luckily, nobody heard it and woke up!!
We woke up at 4:15 am and played CandyLand, the board game. I won three times and Amber won once, but I was clearly the master of that game. We went back to sleep and woke at 7:30 am. Amber kept waking me up but I kept on falling back asleep. She claimed I slept for an hour and she read my books!
After a good breakfast and I opened my family’s presents, Amber and I helped my mom with the cake. When it was done, it was amazing. Since my theme was a pool party, my mom put graham cracker bears tanning on fruit rollup towels by a jelly pool! Mmm!
Amber and I helped put up some lanterns and decorations. Then we went for a small “test” swim and got out in a second because it was a bit chilly, but it got hotter in the day so the pool was good then. Amber and I went on the hammock and I also tanned in the sun but slept for 5 minutes!
Then came the party, and we swam and played games and ate. I got lots of presents so I can’t remember them.

My Memorable Day Asher broke his arm! It all started off like this: We had friends over from England and we went to Xelendi. Then we went on a banana boat! When we got on the banana boat we were going slow then as soon as we got out the bay the man on the boat went really fast and Asher was screaming “GET ME OFF”,. So the driver stopped and Asher got off the banana boat and on the boat.
Then the driver turn on the engine and we went so fast! Then we flew off the banana boat on a turn then we fell of a few more times till we got used to it.
After that we went home to our house and swam in the pool for about an hour! Then I got out and went inside with my friends and Asher went in to the tree house with his friends.
Then after about half an hour one of his friends came up stairs and said to me “Asher fell out of the tree house and hurt his arm”. Then I ran down stairs to see him. He was sitting on a chair with tears running down his face. I said “how did you fall out the tree house”? He said “I was climbing down the rope and it snapped”!. I said “ow that must of hurt”. Then our friends went back to their rental house. The next day Asher went to the hospital and got a cast and then the doctor said you can’t swim till you get the cast off. Then tree weeks later he had his cast off and he could swim again!
My most memorable day was on 31 December 2008. This is a memorable day of me because I really enjoyed it and I had a lot of fun. I would like to share this story with you guys. This story I hope is going to be a fun story, because I really enjoyed it.
The story took place in ‘Zwijndrecht’ Holland. It is located in the South of Holland. There are a lot of houses that look almost the same to all the others. When I go there I always get lost. There are a lot of small lakes which are about 200 meters length and 10 meters wide. In the winter it is always frozen. In the summer It is always really nice to play near it. When I was there in the winter it was negative 3 degrease.
In ‘Zwijndrecht’ my 3 cousins life. The oldest one is 18 years old the second oldest one is 15 years old and the youngest one is 13 years old. My twin brother Sky was there too. My cousins were always with us. They went ice skating with us they brought us to places you weren’t supposed to be. The oldest one is called Niels. He has brownish hair. It is quite curly. He has a light skin tone and his eyes are dark brown. The second oldest cousin is called Jelle. He has flat brown hair and has also a light skin tone and he has green eyes. The youngest cousin is called Meno. He has flat brown hair and is also light skinned tone. His eyes are green. On the 31st December the whole day we were lighting fireworks and throwing them into old buildings which were broken down. Sometimes the police went running behind us but then we would hide. The police do that all the time to other children which throw it into old buildings. The policejust do that for us to have fun. We also went to a school playground and put a chain of fireworks near the school entrance, and then we would fire the fireworks. That was fun. At 12 o’clock at night the real party began. The parents got out there champagne and the children got out the non alcohol champagne. We stayed at home for one hour and then we would go off and have fun again. We would go to Holland for that party every year. This day was memorable because we had so much funI would never forget how much fun I had in2008. It was also a memorable day because I went to Holland every year and this was my most exiting year. The end of the year is a very important day for me because our whole family every where celebrates this day. I didn’t learn anything important on that day. This day changed me being alone from my parents and having my own responsibility.
My memorable day was on the 15/03/08.It was my birthday, and I had a horse-riding competition on the same day. It was my tenth birthday. I woke up at seven thirty that day. I got my competition stuff ready in a big bag. I always do a checklist so I don’t forget anything. I was checking my list just as my mom came in and greeted me with a big Happy Birthday and hugged me. Later everyone woke up and I opened all my presents. They were all really nice!! I also got a new competition shirt from my two sisters, so that is supposed to give me good luck. When we got to the stables I greeted my horse with a big hug. Today the competition was Dressage .I rode two horses in Dressage. Whisper and Jasper. Whisper is mine and Jasper is my horse riding teachers. Whisper is twenty seven and Jasper nineteen years old. They are both pretty old but they are both great horses. I have been riding since I was seven and a half. I only got Whisper half a year ago. Desiree my sister got whisper when she was eleven just like me now. I went into the arena, and I started warming up the horse. She was pretty good. My horse riding teacher told me to do some specific exercises. My sister was competing too. She was before me. It was her turn, and then she started the test. When it came to the cantering her horse bucked! That takes off many points. When she was finished she seemed really mad. My dad cheered her up with chocolate. Then they called my name to walk around a bit. Then they said I could start. I started. For the first part of the test my horse was fine. Then I started to forget my test but then I remembered it again. I finished the test with a big round of applause. Then I got off my horse and got on my teachers horse. He was frisky. That’s quite good. This time my teacher didn’t help me warm the horse up. He knows I can do it by myself. I had two people doing the test before me. I was a bit nervous. But then my dad came over to me and wished me good luck. It was my turn. I went into the arena and started the test. He was great! I had a really good feeling about him. I finished it off nicely. Later I was helping my sister with her horse. She did well too.
Later at the prize ceremony they were saying the winners. Third place... My sister Desiree came third! That’s good. Second place… Me on Jasper ( my horse riding teachers horse) Wow I was happy. And first place… Me again?? Me on Whisper!! (My own horse) Wow I was really happy! My mom and dad congratulated me again. I collected my prize with pride. I went home still really happy and filled with pride. This was a really good day.
My worst memorable day was last year was when I dislocated my finger whilst playing football with my friends during recess. So, let me tell you what happened.
It was lunch time and we were playing on the elementary football pitch which is by the gate. I was goalkeeper and was having lots of fun. Suddenly, Albert shot the ball towards me and as I caught it, I saw Luke .W. running at top speed towards me. Sky Visser was also running straight at me. Then the worst thing happened!! Someone kicked or stepped on my poor hand which was gripped tightly round the ball. I felt this terrible pain and to make it worse I fell over and hit my head on the wall.
As I got up I looked at my hand and saw the end hanging off and bleeding all over the place. I quickly ran towards Ms Beverly who was nearby and she rushed me to Ms Sonia and together they tried to make it better by running cold water on it and wrapping it up with a bandage. I then went back to my classroom and Mr M called my mum to come and take me to hospital.
My mum took me to Mater Dei Hospital and we waited for a long time until they took an me in to have an X-Ray. The nurse said that the X-Ray showed nothing wrong but my dad noticed that it was dislocated and called one of his doctor friends who was in hospital at the time. My dad was right. My parents and I were taken into a treatment room and I was given local anaesthetic and my finger blew up like a sausage. The doctor then pulled and pushed until my finger was back in place. He then put on a metal splint, a bandage and a sling which I had to keep on for a week.
For the next three weeks I could not write properly or do much with my right hand. At school Ms Maggie helped me out.
My Memorable Day. My memorable day was when I went canoeing in Ireland in a river with lots of rocks in it. It was the night before that I find out I was going canoeing with my dad in our fourteen foot canoe. I could hardly eat supper. I slept well that night dreaming about what was going to happen the next day. In the morning I woke up thinking what was so exciting about the day ahead. Then I remembered, we were going canoeing with my dad! It was going to be so exciting! It was a rainy day but that didn’t stop us. We went to the river in an old blue land rover with the canoes on a trailer behind. We drove to a bridge and stopped the car. Then we dragged the canoe under the bridge where a big river was flowing. We were about to start! My dad and his friend called Richard pushed the canoe out into the strong current of the river. While Richard held it, my dad and I got in. It was strange at canoeing at first because I had never done it before! Richard told me how to steer by sticking the oar in the ground. He also told me how if you get stuck in a tree growing on the bank you will fall out of the canoe, and the canoe will go downstream. I was canoeing at the front of the canoe and dad at the back. Amos, another friend of ours, with his son Albert, and two other boys were in the other canoes. I could see a tree that had fallen across the river in front of us. The first challenge! We all bent down and kept canoeing, it was very hard but we managed! It was peaceful after that until we passed Amos and Albert who had fallen out and their canoe had got stuck in the branches. They were wet up to their necks from falling in. When we had got a bit further we found out that some water had got in the boat from when we had got stuck on a rock. We had to get out of the boat and push it onto a sandy bank so we could empty it. Richard soon managed to empty it with the help of my dad. We were off again! I soon found that the water was going much faster and so the boat was going fast as well. I asked Richard “Why is the current going so fast?” “It means there are lots of rocks ahead but I don’t remember this current going so fast last time I canoed this river!” Just then I heard a scream ahead from the other canoe, something cool was coming up! We turned the corner to see lots of humongous rocks and little waterfalls. Richard gasped and cried “The rapids!” We approached slowly and carefully to plan our route through the rocks and trees. We were doing well until we came to a little waterfall. We went over the waterfall to see a round rock under our boat. We couldn’t move off the rock and there was lots of water inside the canoe. Oh no! “Let’s all get out of the boat and empty it before we do anything else,” ordered Richard. We all crawled out of the boat and found that the rocks were so slippery and that there was such a strong current that we had to all hold onto each other to stay balanced. Richard nearly fell off his stone; whilst he regained his balance he lost his hat. “But it didn’t really matter because it smelt of fish!” he said. Dad and Richard emptied the boat and then we all got back in. We were luckier after that because we didn’t have any other ‘accidents’. After the rapids we found the canoeing a lot easier and were going downstream at high speed. It was very calm now and I began to look around me. Just then Richard said “Look! A kingfisher” We all turned to the place he was pointing to and there I saw the first kingfisher of my life. Richard said that we were soon reaching our destination that was an old bridge. We reached a bank near the bridge where Richard’s son was waiting for us in the blue Land Rover. We all crawled into the car and had a delicious Kit-Kat. Then Richard’s son drove us home. Once we were home me and my dad had a hot bath and had supper. I slept very well that night; I can tell you I was sure tired. I hope you remember my memorable day because it was a great day. I hope you enjoyed reading mine I put a lot of work into this.
Today I will tell you about my 10th birthday which is on the 25th of April. I will tell you about it because I had a surprise when we arrived at the airport. The story is set in sunny Malta and freezing cold England.
It all started on a dark night in Malta when my mum decided we should go to McDonalds at the airport for dinner. I thought that was odd. I went to the airport with my mum, dad and my brother Max who was 5 months old. I was very excited about everything . Next day In the morning I opened my presents. My first card was from my brother Max. On the front it said BOLTONS NUMBER ONE FAN. Inside, it had a note saying you will be a mascot for the Bolton v Villa match. “Thanks Max “I screamed I was so excited. Then I got some presents from Jean, Dave, Hilary, Ethan and Elliot. They all gave me some money to spend at Bolton. We all travelled to Bolton and reached the ground .When we arrived at Bolton and I had a photo outside Bolton’s ground. Then we went to the Bolton shop and I brought some Bolton DVDs, a kit for my brother and some Bolton Wanderer’s cards. I got changed into my kit and I also met all the players. I ran onto the pitch with the other mascots and had photos with some players. People were shouting and chanting for the game to start. The game was one of my favourites of all time but in the end the score was 1-1, I enjoyed it very much and what a huge surprise .I will remember that day forever because it was my birthday and I turned into double figures.

In the morning I opened my presents.
My Memorable Day
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is on May 1st.

ReplyDeleteMY MEMORABLE DAY
ReplyDeleteMy memorable day is the birth of my brother (Dima).

ReplyDeleteI have chosen to write about my most memorable day this year.
At 3:15 we got home…
At home we played hide and seek, tag, and went on the roof to shoot for a bit out of my BB rifle.
Now came the best part…
We wanted even more violence, so we had a pillow fight in the dark with the lights off.

ReplyDeleteIt was the 23rd of May-the day before my birthday.
But it was a GREAT day!

ReplyDeleteAsher broke his arm!
It all started off like this:
We had friends over from England and we went to Xelendi.

ReplyDeleteMy most memorable day was on 31 December 2008.

My Memorable Day
ReplyDeleteMy memorable day was on the 15/03/08.It was my birthday, and I had a horse-riding competition on the same day.
(My own horse)
Wow I was really happy! My mom and dad congratulated me again. I collected my prize with pride.
I went home still really happy and filled with pride. This was a really good day.

My Worst Memorable day
ReplyDeleteMy worst memorable day was last year was when I dislocated my finger whilst playing football with my friends during recess.

ReplyDeleteMy memorable day was when I went canoeing in Ireland in a river with lots of rocks in it.
I asked Richard “Why is the current going so fast?”
“It means there are lots of rocks ahead but I don’t remember this current going so fast last time I canoed this river!”
Just then I heard a scream ahead from the other canoe, something cool was coming up! We turned the corner to see lots of humongous rocks and little waterfalls. Richard gasped and cried “The rapids!”
We approached slowly and carefully to plan our route through the rocks and trees.

I was very excited about everything .
Next day
In the morning I opened my presents.
The game was one of my favourites of all time but in
the end the score was 1-1, I enjoyed it very much and what a huge surprise .I will remember that day forever because it was my birthday and I turned into double figures.
