Further Summary! (It Never Ends!)
Today we continued viewing the film Hercules. Please use your previous work and your ideas about today's portion of the film to summarize everything we have seen so far. (Remember that just because we have now seen more does not mean that your summary should now be longer!)

Summary of Hercules.
ReplyDeleteToday in English we watched a cartoon about Hercules, who was extremely strong, but not very clever. Hercules' father and mother were gods so he was a god too, and when he was born, two creatures stole him and made him mortal. Two people found him and took care of him. Soon he found out that his real parents were gods, and Zeus told him he needs to become a hero to be a god. Hercules went to a Satyr, who taught him how to fight, to become a true hero. Hercules goes to Thebes and Meg tells him that two boys were trapped in a gorge. Hercules went to save the boys in the gorge, and they were actually transformed Pain and Panic, Hades' helpers. When he freed them, a hydra attacked Hercules, and he managed to kill it. Hercules killed many other monsters and became the most popular hero of Greece, and all the girls liked him. Hercules went to the temple of Zeus, and Zeus told him that he needs to become a true hero, not just a hero. Hercules was very confused, so he left. Hades couldn't kill him with the monsters, and he had 24 hours to kill Hercules to rule the world. He sent Meg to find his weak spot, and Hercules’ weak spot was “Love”, since he fell in love with Meg, and she loved him back. Hades sent Pain and Panic, his two helpers, who transformed into a female horse, to attract Pegasus. Pegasus followed them, and they captured him.
Hercules Summary
ReplyDeleteIn the beginning of the film Hera and Zeus have a son called Hercules. Hercules gets all kinds of gifts from the other gods. But one day some monsters called Pain and Panic comes and they capture Hercules and bring him down to Earth. Luckily two earthlings find him and take care of him. After some years Hercules becomes a young man and very, very strong. His step mum and step dad tells him that they found him a long time ago and that they think he might be a god because Hercules had a necklace around his neck. Hercules decides to go up to the high mountain and pray to Zeus. When he arrives to the temple at the top, the stone statue of Zeus becomes alive and tells Hercules that he is his dad. Zeus gives Hercules a horse called Pegasus and Hercules flies away to an island where he can train to become a god again. He goes through a lot of tests and manages them in the end. After the tests Hercules and his trainer Phil take off to the village Thebes because Phil told Hercules that they need a hero. On the way they hear a scream from the woods. It is a woman called Meg that needs Hercules help. Hercules helps her and then he says farewell to Meg and leaves. Meg then goes to find Hades to tell him about Hercules. Meg works for Hades but doesn’t want to. At the same time Hercules is off to Thebes again. When they arrive to the village they see that it is in ruins. Then Meg comes to Thebes and tells Hercules that there are two boys trapped. Phil thinks he should go and help the boys so that he can show the villagers that he is a hero. When they arrive to where the boys are trapped, Hercules grabs a big rock and throws it away. The two boys come out of the cave and then run away. The two boys aren’t really boys; they are just Pain and Panic. All the villagers start cheering and clapping their hands. Out of the cave comes the Hydra and tries to kill Hercules. It was Hades idea to let the Hydra out because he wants to kill Hercules too. Hercules manages to kill the Hydra at last and then he becomes the most famous person in whole of Greece. He gets rich and buys a palace and fight monsters in Thebes. One day Meg came to Hercules’s palace and asks him if he wants to go on a date the same evening. This is one of Hades tricks again. They fall in love with each other and they nearly kiss but then Phil comes and stops them. Phil flies away with Hercules but Phil accidentally falls of Pegasus and faints. At the same time Hades comes to talk to Meg. He tells he about the plan once more because he thinks she has fallen in love with Hercules. Phil hears everything and runs back to Hercules. When Phil tells Hercules about Meg and Hades he doesn’t believe him and then they get mad at each other.

ReplyDeleteToday, I will summarise the Disney movie Hercules. The story is about a young, strong man named Hercules.
Zeus and Hera give birth to a son called Hercules. All the gods of Olympus celebrate his birth except for Hades who is the ruler of the underworld and seeks to overthrow Zeus. Hades learns from the grey sisters that in eighteen years, all the planets will form a straight line which will reveal the location of where the Titans are trapped, allowing him to free them and take over Olympus but only if Hercules doesn't ruin his plan. To make sure of his own success, Hades sends his monsters/animals Pain and Panic to kidnap Hercules. They try to kill Hercules with a potion which Hercules has to drink. If he doesn’t drink all of it or he will keep his strength. Luckily for Hercules a farmer and his wife find him lying on the floor but there was still some of the potion left. The farmer and his wife took care of the boy Hercules for 18 years until he had to depart.
Hercules is training to become a hero so he can go to Mount Olympus. Phil his trainer tells him that there are lots of problems in Thebes, when they arrive in Thebes, Meg screams through the city “Help some boys are stuck between some rocks!” Hercules comes to their rescue.

Summary of Hercules film.
ReplyDeleteThis lesson we watched a film about Hercules. We watched it with 6b. The film goes like this;
There was once a little boy who was Zeus’s son. Then one day Hades, the god of the underworld, stole Hercules away and gave him a potion to become mortal. But he didn’t give Hercules the entire potion, he left one drip left. That meant that Hercules would still have some immortal strength in him. So he gets adopted by some old farmers that look after the boy until he decided to find who he really was.
So he went off to the temple of Zeus. There he found out that he was Zeus’s son. Then he goes to a trainer call Phil who trains him to become a real warrior. After he is good enough he goes Thebes to fight a monster and he wins.
Then he flies away on Pegasus with Phil to go to Thebes. But Hades has made up a plan that will kill Hercules. When he gets to Thebes a girl that he saved from a monster came to him and said there were two boys who had got stuck down a ravine. But really this girl worked for Hades and was doing the plan that Hades had told her to do.
When Hercules got to the ravine he saved the boys but there was a surprise for him. Suddenly the Hydra started fighting by Hades request. Then Hercules punched a cliff and the cliff fell down on the monster. The monster was dead.
From then on Hercules was a great hero. He lived in a palace. But Hades was planning something else. Hades told Meg, the girl who he saved from a monster, to found out Hercules’s problem that they could defeat him with.
Hercules went to have a party with Meg and she asked him his problems. He didn’t have a problem so Meg had nothing to tell Hades. Then Phil over heard what Meg and Hades were talking about. He heard them talking about killing Hercules. But Phil didn’t hear the bit when Meg said she had fallen in love with Hercules so she couldn’t kill him.
Back at the training ground in the palace Hercules was practising his gymnastics. He was in love with Meg. While Hercules was doing his gymnastics two of Hades workers kidnapped Pegasus, Hercules’s horse. Then Phil started talking to Hercules about the plan Meg was going to do. Hercules wouldn’t listen so Phil walked away.
That is where we got to in the film.
yesterday in english we watched Hercules and it started like this:
ReplyDeleteIn the begining there were six girls singing about hercules. On mount Olympus Zeus is having a party to celebrate the birth of his son Hercules.
Pluto then comes in and talks to Zeus about Hercules then goes back to the under world. When he get there his two minions, Pain and Panic come tumbling down the stairs to speak to Pluto
They say"the three sisters are here"! Pluto says "what! why didnt you tell me"!
Then he go running to where the three sisters are.
They say "youre late"
He says" im sorry i was just causing come mischief in Mount Olympus"!
Then the sisters said "very well then"!
Then the sisters talk about Plutos future defeating Zeus. Pluto then starts cheering like mad until the sisters says
"but after that Hercules woud defeat Pluto.
Then his cheering turns to hate and anger and he tells the sisters to leave. Then pluto makes a potion to turn imortals to mortals, and he tells Panic and Pain to kidnap Hercules and feed him the potion. In the mean time Zeus is giving Hercules a present. As soon as he recieves it he head buts it to get rid of the clouds surrounding it . It is a flying horse called Pegaisus! Then all of the gods leave ,and Zeus, his wife and Hercules go to bed. Pain and Panic come and steele Hercules and shove Pegaisus in a pot then fly away! Zeus and his wife hear a noise and run towards the cradel where Hercules is lying. Before he is kid naped Pegaisus comes out of the pot and starts to cry with Zeus and his wife.When pain and panic land they put the poition in the bottle and give it to Hercules to drink then Pain says "Drink every drop in the bottle"!
Then two people come to see where this noise is coming from. Hercules drops the bottle which he hasnt finished so now only half immortal. Pain and Panic turn into snakes to try and escape but Hercules pick them up and throws them far away,Two people take Herc ules home because they think his parents have left him, so now they parent him.
About 10 years later Hercules is dragging an enormous amount of hay on a cart with his step dad and his donkey who has a broken leg. He pulls the cart so fast back to the town where loads of pillars were placed. Then his step dad leaves, and Hercules is now incharge of the cart.. Then Hercules tries to catch a frisby which flies at him
Then the people which were playing come up to him ,and he says 'can i play? and they says" No we have to play with an even amount of people. And then they say " we already have five and he said fives not an even number then they run off. Then he sees a guy falling over holding lots of pots and he goes over to try and help but he says he is fine. Then the frisby come at him again and he rans towards the wall after it. He smashes in to the wall and all the colums come down.
After that they go home very sadly and says to his dad "what am i meant to do with my life/? and he says i dont know You might be able to find out if you go to Zeuses temple. Then off he goes to Zeuses temple to find out. When he gets there he starts to pray to this huge statue of Zeus then a thunder bolt hits it and it come alive and says that he is his father. and tells him the story of why he cant come back to Mount Olympus. He tells him to find a satyre to train him in combat.
When he finds him he tells him he needs training to get stronger and to prove he is a god! Then they start to train.
Then the satyre took Hercules to thebes to see if there was any trouble going on . There were people talking about there house on fire and that they need a hero, then hercules comes and says im a hero and they say yeah rit
a lady come running in saying there is 2 kids stuck under a rock come and help then he comes and saves them.
Hercules is the son of the god Zeus and his mother is Hera. One day when his parents were celebrating, Hades was there and he was a bad person and he wanted to be the king instead of Zeus. So he went to see the three ugly sisters as they could tell him his fortune. The ugly sisters predicted that in 18 years time Zeus will die and Hades will rule all of Greece. But then Hercules will be a man and he will fight Hades and kill him. Hades decides to do something about it and turns Hercules into a mortal human and gives him a potion to drink. But Hercules doesn’t drink all of the potion and leaves a drop. Then the gods of Greece give something to Hercules to help him and they decide to let him keep his super strength.
ReplyDeleteAnyway the baby is left on Earth and a nice man and woman find Hercules and look after him. When he grows older he causes a lot of trouble as he keeps breaking things because of his strength. So Hercules’s parents tell him about the time when they found him when he was a baby. They give him something that was on him. Hercules realizes what it is and knows that Zeus can tell him about his past. Zeus tells him that he is his real father. He also says that the only way to become a God again is to be a true hero.
So Hercules looks for the trader who can help him became a hero. When he finds the trader he warns him that it is very difficult to become a hero and does not think he can do it alone. Then when they are out in the woods they hear a lady screaming. She is fighting with a monster who is half man half bull. Hercules fights with the creature and using his strength beats him and so saves the lady.
Hercules talks to the lady and she is called Meg. When Hercules leaves to go to Thebes, Hades finds Meg because he owns her. He is angry with her because the half bull and half beast didn’t join their group and Hades told Meg to fix it and she didn’t. Meg tells him that Hercules saved her and Hades was livid as Pain and Panic failed with their task. Hercules still had his strength.
Meanwhile in Thebes Hercules is trying to become a true hero as Thebes has problems such as people fighting. But the people want a professional hero not an amateur. Then Meg arrives in Thebes and tells Hercules that two boys were stuck and they needed saving. When they arrived at the mountains the boys were saying help but it was a trick that Pain and Panic had planned. With his strength Hercules lifts up the gigantic rock and the boys crawled from under it. After saying thank you to Hercules they went back to Hades but Hercules didn’t realize that they are working for him. Then a Hydra appears and Hercules asks Phil the trader what to do. Phil tells him to run but Hercules doesn’t run but stays and tries to defeat the Hydra. Every time Hercules cuts off one of the Hydra’s head, 2 more heads appear and then there are loads of heads. The Hydra (and all the heads) traps Hercules with its tail but Hercules bangs the rocks with his almighty strength and loads of small rocks tumble and kill the Hydra and Hercules is save. The people are really impressed and he becomes popular and famous in Greece.
But Hades realizes he needs to do more to get rid of Hercules so he throws more challenges at Hercules such as vicious lions and Hercules defeats them all. Then Hades decides that maybe the challenges have not been the right ones and asks Meg to find out what Hercules weakness is. He promises her that if she succeeds then he will give her back her freedom. So Meg meets up with Hercules for a day together and tries to find out the information about his weakness. But Phil interrupts them as they get romantic and Hercules and Pegasus leave. Meg then tells Hades that she doesn’t want to trick Hercules anymore and Hades then decides that Hercules weak spot is Meg. But Phil hears all of this and tells Hercules. But Hercules doesn’t believe Phil and pushes him into some chains. Phil gives up.
In class we watched the Disney animated film Hercules. The story started off with Zeus and his wife Hera had a baby called Hercules. They had a party to celebrate their son’s birth and they invited all the gods. That night Hercules lay in his cot with his horse with wings called Pegasus which was a gift from his dad, Zeus. Hades’ minions Panic and Pain sneaked into their home and stole Hercules. His parents heard a crash and went to investigate and found an empty cot. Panic and Pain rushed down with Hercules and gave him a potion which turned him into a mortal but he had to drink every drop and to Hercules’ luck the bottle broke and he did not drink it all so as this happened he kept his amazing strength. A man and woman were walking by when they caught sight of Hercules and decided to adopt him. They also noticed that he had a necklass that was just like Zeus’ so they presumed that he was a gift from the gods. When Hercules was much older his adoptive father took him into town. Hercules was told to stay by the cart with hay. Soon after a steel circular frizbee dropped at his feet so he picked it up and threw it back but he threw it too hard and it hit a column and knocked it over. The building fell like a series of dominos. Soon after, his adoptive parents told him that he was adopted and that shocked him but at the same time he was questioning himself about who he was. They showed him the necklass and they told him that Zeus has the exact same one so he went to Zeus’ temple on a hill and asked Zeus if he knew who he was. Suddenly Zeus’ statue turned to life and said “My son Hercules, you have returned”. Hercules was surprised but it explained why he was so strong. Zeus also told him that he was no longer a god as he had been taken away and given a potion and that he could not return to Mount Olympus. The only way he could return was to become a hero with the mortals and then he would be accepted back. He was told to find Satyr who would teach him how to fight. He was a good student and was soon fighting criminals. After he had fought the first one he met a lady who he liked very much. So he asked her to come with him but she said no. So he went into the city looking for people to help. When the lady from the forest came running into him telling him that two boys were stuck in an avalanche. So they rushed to the site and saw that the boys were under a huge bolder, so Hercules used all his strength and it was soon up on top of his arms. Suddenly he heard a growl. He looked inside and saw a monster emerging. So he pulled out his sword and gave a mighty strike but missed again and again. Finally he managed to hit the monsters head but the monster struck back and swallowed him. Once again there was silence when they saw a section of the monster’s neck expanding. From inside the monster, Hercules cut off the monster’s neck and jumped out. Suddenly, two more heads grew from where he had cut.
ReplyDeleteToday in English we watched a movie called Hercules. I will write a small summary about the movie. Hercules was born in a cloud where the gods lived that meant that he was a god. One day his parents gave him a horse which could fly. Then one day when Hercules and the horse went to bed and were sleeping, 2 creatures kidnapped him and brought him to earth. The two creatures tried to get him to the underworld but then a man and woman saw Hercules and the creatures were gone. The two people picked up Hercules and brought him to their home. When Hercules grew up and he was a teen ager he destroyed a whole temple or something like that. Then his new parents told him they weren’t his real parents then Hercules went to the temple of Zeus and prayed to him. Then Hercules talked to Zeus and told him he was his real father and that he was a god.
ReplyDeleteIn this english lesson we watched the same movie but a bit futher on in the movie. In this part of the movie was about Hercules going to Tubes and then this woman he knows comes to him and tells him there are two boys which are trapped in this rockey place. But urlier in the movie his teacher which was training him to be a hero brought him to Tubes, and told him it was really busy there and that you had to really watch out.
In this English lesson watched the same movie again, but again a bit further in the story. In this part Hercules kills a lion and a hydra, but with the hydra everytime he cut off one head 2 would grow on. After that Hades tells Meg to find out what weacknesses hercules has. Then they get together one day and meg askes what his weaknesses are, he said he didn't have any weaknesses and that he was able to kill everything.

Reading Log about ‘KIDNAPPED’.
ReplyDeleteThis story is called Kidnapped. It was written by Robert Louis Balfour Stevenson. He was born in Edinburgh in 1850. First he wrote the famous Treasure Island in 1883 and wrote Kidnapped in 1886. He died suddenly on 3rd December 1894 aged only 44. It was published by Oxford University Press.
The story starts with a boy called David Balfour who wants to seek his fortune. He first goes to the House of Shaws where he meets his horrible uncle who took it from David’s dead father. He soon leaves on a ship and meets a man called Alan Breck Stewart. They have to fight the rest of the crew and then won after a vicious battle. Then they are accused of shooting Colin Campbell of Glenure.
