Comparing and contrasting- Jason and the Golden Fleece and Jason and the Argonauts.
ReplyDeleteToday, I’ll be comparing and contrasting Jason and the Golden Fleece and Jason and the Argonauts.
Comparing:-
Jason fights some skeleton and the tooth army.
Pelias kills Aeson and takes the crown of Thessaly(Thebes)
In each film there is Jason, Golden Fleece, Phineas, Medea and the Argonauts.
Contrasting:-
In the film the army is called the hydra tooth army.
In the book the army is called the dragon tooth army.
The tooth army part is after the Golden Fleece part in the movie.
The tooth army part is before the Golden Fleece part in the movie.
I am going to talk about two different stories one is called Jason and the Golden Fleece, and the other one is called Jason and the Argonauts. I will write 3 other paragraphs, the second one is going to be about the similarities between the two stories, the third paragraph is going to be the differences, and the last paragraph is going to be my conclusion. So let me start with the similarities.
ReplyDeleteThe similarities in the two stories are; in both the written story and the movie Jason was the main character, there also were the Argonauts, Jason also defeated the Harpies. Jason and his team got the Golden Fleece. There also was the creature that was guarding the Fleece. Phineas was infected by the harpies, and then Jason and his Argonauts captured them. There was also a woman called Medae in the two stories .
The differences in the movie are that Hera helped Jason with 5 solutions and in the story it said that on then sailing boat there was a figurehead only. The creature guarding the Fleece was a hydra in the movie and a dragon around the tree. In the movie Zeus and Hera played a game, and in the story they didn’t.
I really enjoyed this topic, it was fun and I really enjoyed watching the movie, but I didn’t really enjoy reading the story but that is because I don’t really like reading. I will want to watch the movie again but not read the story again.
Jason and the Argonauts.
ReplyDeleteDuring the last week we were reading a book and watching a movie called Jason and the Argonauts. I am going to tell you the similarities and differences between the book and the movie.
Similarities:
Jason is the main character. Jason and Medea love each other and get married. Jason kills the monster and gets the Golden Fleece. Pelias kills Jason’s parents. Jason helps Phineas. Jason kill’s the harpies. Jason gets past the clashing cliffs. Jason defeats the dragon tooth army.
Differences:
In the book Jason kills the dragon, but in the movie he kills the Hydra. Neptune helps Jason to get past the clashing cliffs. In the book Phineas was a king, but in the movie he was just a blind man. Zeus gave Hera permission to help Jason only 5 times in the movie, but nothing like that happened in the book. Jason rescued Medea in the movie, but in the book he didn’t.
I prefer the movie, because I just relaxed and watched the movie, but when I read the book, I didn’t relax.

Compare and contrast “Jason and the Argonauts” and “Jason and the Golden Fleece”
ReplyDeleteIntro:
Today in English class we watched the movie “Jason and the Argonauts” and we have read the book a few days ago called “Jason and the golden fleece. Mr. MacLachlan said we have to check what similarities there are and what differences both of them so that is what I am going to do.
Similarities:
The similarities of the story are that there are mostly the same characters and that there is the main character in both of them, Jason. Both have the Argonauts and the Golden Fleece. There is also Medea, Phineas and King Pelias and also King Aeetes of Colchis. Other similarities are that he goes on the adventure for the Golden Fleece.
Differences:
There are lots of differences. At the start of the movie Jason’s dad dies and in the story he doesn’t. At the end of the movie Medea does not go home with Jason and give the dad a potion like in the story. There is a Hydra instead of a Dragon. Hera is not looking over him.

Summary of Hercules film.
ReplyDeleteThis lesson we watched a film about Hercules. We watched it with 6b. The film goes like this;
There was once a little boy who was Zeus’s son. Then one day Hades, the god of the underworld, stole Hercules away and gave him a potion to become mortal. But he didn’t give Hercules the entire potion, he left one drip left. That meant that Hercules would still have some immortal strength in him. So he gets adopted by some old farmers that look after the boy until he decided to find who he really was.
So he went off to the temple of Zeus. There he found out that he was Zeus’s son. Then he goes to a trainer call Phil who trains him to become a real warrior. After he is good enough he goes Thebes to fight a monster and he wins.
That’s where we got to in the film.
